LPG/Propane & SNG Base Load Fuel Systems Engineering & Manufacturing
Base load systems utilizing synthetic natural gas (SNG) or propane fuel can be used to provide energy to users located in remote regions where natural gas (NG) is unavailable due to a lack of resources and/or infrastructure.
Both SNG and propane base load systems are also commonly deployed in developing natural gas markets—prior to the arrival of NG—where these fuels are used as a ‘bridge fuel’ in preparation for natural gas availability.
SNG is created by blending vaporized liquid petroleum gas (LPG) with air. The mixed gas has virtually the same combustion characteristics as NG, and unlike oil—which requires its own burners, piping and controls—in virtually all cases SNG and natural gas can be burned using identical combustion equipment.
Because propane, which can be easily pressurized and transported as a liquid (LPG) via truck or rail, and therefore does not call for the significant infrastructure requirements associated with natural gas, its use can be implemented much more readily.
For remote regions, both SNG and propane base load systems allow for the use of low-cost, environmentally friendly LPG, regardless of location.
And for those in developing NG markets currently dependent on diesel or crude oil, switching to propane or SNG lets plants convert oil powered turbines to gas power before NG infrastructure is complete, to begin benefitting from lower cost, cleaner burning gas power sooner—and to be ready for natural gas once it can be delivered.
Base load propane and synthetic natural gas systems typically consist of a vaporizer to convert liquid LPG to gas and a propane air mixer to blend the vaporized LPG with air. Storage tanks for on-site LPG storage and truck unloading equipment in addition to a pump for moving LPG to the vaporizer are also required.
TransTech Energy offers complete, custom and turnkey SNG and LPG/propane base-load system design and implementation, including engineering design, component delivery, construction, and full testing of your completed system.
